The Meet Me in the Dirt®
Plant & Self-Care Guide

Welcome to your living reminder that growth takes tending — in your plants and in your soul.
These five principles will help your succulents, herbs, and houseplants (and you) thrive.
1. Light = Presence
Plants need the right light to flourish:
-
Succulents: Bright, indirect light or a sunny window.
-
Herbs: 4–6 hours of sunlight daily.
-
Houseplants: Filtered or medium light and avoid harsh rays.
Self-Care Reflection: Let your own light be consistent, not exhausting. You don’t have to burn to shine.
2. Water Wisely
-
Succulents: Water only when soil is completely dry.
-
Herbs: Keep soil moist but never soggy.
-
Houseplants: Check the top inch of soil before watering. If dry, it’s time for a drink.
Self-Care Reflection: Listen to your body’s thirst for rest, peace, and play. Refill intentionally every time.
3. Good Soil = Good Support
-
Succulents: Use well-draining cactus mix with perlite or sand.
-
Herbs: Enrich soil with compost or organic fertilizer.
-
Houseplants: Use quality indoor potting soil that breathes.
Self-Care Reflection: Healthy roots require supportive surroundings. Choose environments and people that let you breathe, too.
4. Prune with Purpose
-
Herbs: Regular trimming encourages new growth.
-
Houseplants: Remove yellowing leaves to redirect energy.
-
Succulents: Gently remove dried or leggy sections.
Self-Care Reflection: Let go of what drains you — even good things can outgrow their season.
5. Observe and Celebrate Small Growth
Notice every new leaf, every sprout of green.
These tiny changes signal life and resilience.
Self-Care Reflection: Growth is often quiet before it’s visible. Celebrate your small wins — they’re signs of renewal.
